Mesh for Locus Map
Last updated: 18 March 2026
Mesh for Locus Map is an Android app that forwards Meshtastic node position data to the Locus Map app on the user's device.
Data processed by the app
The app may process the following data on-device:
- Meshtastic node identifiers
- Meshtastic node display names
- Meshtastic node location coordinates
- Locally cached last known node positions used to restore markers after app or service restart
- App operational state such as whether forwarding is enabled
How the data is used
The app uses this data only to:
- detect Meshtastic nodes and their positions
- create or update markers in Locus Map
- keep previously known markers available on the device when needed
- show basic operational status inside the app
Data sharing
The app does not send your data to the developer's servers.
The app shares Meshtastic node position data only with apps on the same device when needed for its core function, specifically:
- Locus Map, to display forwarded markers
- Meshtastic, as the source of node information made available to this app
Data storage and retention
The app stores some last known node information locally on the device so markers can be restored or kept available between sessions.
No cloud backend is used by this app.
Data remains on the device until it is removed by the app, cleared by the user, or the app is uninstalled.
Permissions used
The app may request or declare the following Android permissions:
- Foreground service permissions, to run the forwarding service reliably in the background
- Notification permission, to show foreground service notifications when required by Android
Children's privacy
The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data for a remote service.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the app's data handling changes.
